Yesterday was our first day of work. We prepared classrooms at the church and handed out flyers in downtown Serbia.

We went out to dinner last night and got to taste a little bit of a large variety of Serbian food. Afterward, we drove around the city and then stopped for some ice cream. Today is a free day, so I hope to take lots of photos of the city. Some very cool things here to see. By the way, clicking on any of these posted photos will take you to our gallery listing where you can view the gallery of all the images from our trip.

Belgrade Serbia Mission Trip

Posted by dlayton on Jun 19th, 2009

Hey everyone! I just wanted to send a quick note about our Serbian mission trip. We are leaving in just a few hours for a 14 hour flight. Susan and I are excited and a little scared, but we know that God has a plan. We will try to do daily updates here and on the Eyecatch blog. Please keep us and the people in Serbia in your prayers. Love Doug & Susan

Loving What You Do!

Posted by dlayton on Feb 17th, 2009

Passion may seem a strange word choice when paired with career, but rest assured that one of the most important elements of personal happiness is being passionate about your career and your job, and I’m so blessed to be part of this amazing profession called photography and design!  I’m thankful I’m not one of those people who only live and look forward to the weekends or dread Sunday evenings! Life is too short to not love the work you do.  Of course, I can relate to those who really struggle Monday through Friday, trying to force themselves to do a job they really don’t like.  I was there once or twice in my life, but can I tell you how librated I feel now that I own my own photography and design business?  My passion for beautiful pictures and great design help challenge me each day, and knowing that I’ve given all I could to a project makes me proud…especially when we shoot engagement portraits or weddings.  To see a couple profess their love for one another brings joy to my heart, or when I’m getting a close up of a newborn’s foot or hand…I tell ya, it’s magical.  I’m not sure if other photographers feel the way I do, but I can tell you that it’s rewarding work, and I wouldn’t change a thing!

My prayer for you is this, may the thing you’re passionate about be discovered and help fulfill your life!

Happy Tuesday! – Doug Layton

I have watched little Owen grow before my eyes, and it’s been wonderful!  He’s now 1-year-old, and his family called to set up another portrait session.  Wow, how much he’s grown since our last shoot.  Whenever I take pictures of children, I always come away with a huge smile on my face.  Children are to be treasured, and I’m grateful we did our part by providing beautiful pictures the family can enjoy for years to come.  Happy Birthday Little Man!

Words From The President

Every January resolutions are written and spoken with the greatest intent, but very few are achieved.  Well, for me, I choose to send up a prayer.  A prayer that God will help me fulfill whatever mission He has for me and my business in 2009.  I offer up the same prayer for you…so embrace 2009 with great expectations.  Happy New Year!!!
